IBIA gains the Glitnor Group as new member in Ontario
The Glitnor Group operates under the LCKY Group in the Canadian province.
The Glitnor Group is joining the global voice on integrity for the regulated gambling industry.
The online casino giant, which operates under the LCKY Group in Ontario, announced that it has joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA). The Glitnor Group adds to more than 50 companies and 100 sports betting brands that have joined the IBIA, which ensures betting integrity using an international monitoring network to detect and report suspicious activity.
“At Glitnor Group, we’re dead serious about keeping our betting games fair and square,” said LCKY CEO David Schwieler. “That’s why teaming up with IBIA is a big deal for us. We know how crucial it is to protect the spirit of sports, and we’re ready to roll up our sleeves and work closely with the IBIA to make sure sports betting stays exciting, speedy, and above all, fair.”
The Glitnor Group has joined the IBIA as Ontario matures as a fair and safe iGaming and sports betting market.
In 2022, Canada’s most populous province became an open gaming market after using a monopoly model that only authorized a government-owned operator to provide wagering.
Ontario is projected to reach a 92% onshore sports betting channelisation rate in 2024. In comparison, the rest of Canada’s provinces are expected to combine for an 11% rate, according to an IBIA study.
Offshore gambling in provinces outside of Ontario could lead to approximately $2 billion in taxable gross gambling revenue losses between 2024 and 2028.
