Amazon has officially expanded the scope of ‘Amazon Luna’ – its cloud gaming service – to include Canada, Germany and the UK.

The platform launched in the three regions last week, one year after debuting in the US.

Powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), the service enables players to stream and play games on compatible devices they already own, with its catalogue including 100-plus games across three different subscription services.

Compatible devices include Fire TV, Fire tablets, Windows PCs, Chromebooks, Macs, iPhones, iPads, and Android phones

“With Amazon Luna, we’re making gaming easier and more convenient by offering instant access to console-quality games on devices customers already own,” said Daniel Rausch, VP, Amazon Entertainment Devices and Services.

“Gamers in the US have been enjoying Luna for the past year so we’re thrilled to now expand the service to customers in Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom.”

Amazon Prime members can play a rotating selection of games on Luna every month at no additional cost but must choose from three different monthly subscription options – Luna+, Ubisoft+ and Jackbox Games – to access a wider range of titles.

Alongside the online service, Amazon has also released the Amazon Luna controller which can connect to the cloud via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
