PowerPlay.com’s success boosted by soccer betting
The operator celebrates its fifth year in Ontario
PowerPlay.com’s success in the Canadian gaming industry is in part due to the unexpected rise in soccer betting.
This is according to the company, which outlined its success in becoming a ‘standout contender’ in the Canadian gaming industry.
PowerPlay recently celebrated its fifth year operating in Ontario where it has held a license to provide an online sportsbook and live casino since 2022 when the regulated market was established.
“We’ve dedicated ourselves to strengthening our footprint in Ontario,” explained Larry Fisher, PowerPlay.com’s Head of Content. “Our strategic insights have played a pivotal role in driving continuous growth, showcasing our unwavering commitment to understanding and adapting to the ever-evolving preferences of the Canadian market.”
PowerPlay.com claims to offer over 150 betting markets on soccer games, which includes both pre-match and live during the game.
Success in the soccer market mirrors the growth of the sport in Canada. The country’s men’s team competed in its second ever FIFA World Cup in 2022 and will also co-host the 2026 edition of the tournament alongside the U.S. and Mexico.
The Canadian team boasts several superstars among its ranks including Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies and Lille’s Jonathan David, the rise of which has boosted the sport’s standing across the nation.
Canada is also home to the Vancouver Whitecaps, CF Montreal and Toronto FC who compete in the MLS.
Away from soccer, PowerPlay.com also hailed its partnership with Interac as a payment solutions provider which allows for ‘seamless transactions’ and a simpler user experience for customers.
Furthermore, the company recognises the importance of what it describes as groundbreaking engagement strategies, diverse product offerings and innovative bonus structures as further reasons why it has been successful in the Canadian market.
